Our Immigrant Welcome Center

The Immigrant Welcome Center (IWC) houses our Neighbor 2 Neighbor Resource Center (N2N), designed to provide support for immigrants seeking assistance in navigating systems in Charlotte. La Coalición staff and volunteers are prepared to assess needs and facilitate exchange of information on community resources of la Coalición and others available in the Charlotte area. Every year we serve close to 5000 individuals.

Our Programs

Community ID

The Latin American Coalition (LAC) offers a Community ID Card as part of the Interfaith Action Network).

Crisis Intervention

In partnership with Crisis Assistance Ministry, Loaves and Fishes and Good Friends, we offer immediate crisis assistance to maintain stable housing, avoid homelessness and ensure access to basic needs including shelter, clothes, and food.

Domestic Violence

Offering support to victims of domestic violence or other cases of violence through a network of partner agencies helping individuals gain access to legal support, health services and safety planning.

In partnership with the Mecklenburg County Court House we hold a Divorce and Custody Workshop every two months at la Coalición. We offer a women’s support group twice a month that uses literature and poetry to help women overcome a loss or struggle they may have experienced.

Contact us at (704) 531 3848 for dates and registration.

Our goal is to increase the integration and reduce the barriers to resources therefore, we offer a variety of referrals to other agencies in Charlotte for example Spanish-speaking attorneys and low-cost health clinics.
